soft golden shades
rustling leaves
upon fruit given trees
planted with
the loving hands
you are the autumn man
Snow covered paths
cleared to make way
for others you care
to melt away the cold
with your warm heart
the fire glows
you are the winter man
Bluebells and daffodils
fill the earth
scattered by
the gardeners hand
loving seeds are sown
to feed the family
you are the spring man
White vest
and tanned skin
the woodworker
carves his special touch
patiently picks
the fruits of his labour
ice cream and trifle
you are the sunshine

from the supermarket shelf
then passing the cd rack
I thought I`d treat myself
saw this girl on tv
with hairdo with attitude
and there she was on cd
cover looking very cool
window open in room up top
stereo on full blast
as the music drifted down the road
a couple of youngters walked past
looking up I bet they thought
someone is really with it
playing in for the kill and quicksand
others wishing I`d turn it down a bit
over and over the music played
and as if by magic and two pints
this painting I made

pubs
landlords

beer
bitter
anxious
lovable
prickly
unwilling
willing

A prayer is a few words
spoken gently
to the inner shelf
who else is listening
there`s no mystery
no magic potion
just the stirring
of the soul in motion
It would be selfish
to ask yourself
for greater wealth
what would that achieve
better to give thanks
to be alive
and help
others
in the hive
No point in wasting
a seconds breath
no one should expect
too much
what point in pondering
the inner expanse
better to move
with the dance
Think of the words
as message to
the depths within
go graciously forward
into the cold wind
and warm the cockles
of your heart
with every thoughtful molecule

Rocks and sand
tumbling hands
wandering minds
of similar kind
that place where cars fly
and rocks fall upon
that place I stood
only yesterday
making faces
out of
white stone
left to be alone
with glittering crystals
of the night sky
We need to get away
need a holiday
a fag or something
a winkle or a cockle
or something
you are only in your head
the universe is in your head

lay
motionless
as
the
full
moon
peers
down
with
a
silent
light
the
ocean
meets
the
beach
as
it
makes
its
waves

forward
Viewing the island
from our hotel room
high above electric avenue
and the streets of Kowloon
Taking the lift scuttling down
to the streets below
deeper to the chattering crowds
of the underground
Doors close we are on our way
deep under the water
of the star ferry bay
to the island of light
To the place where earlier that day
a pianist left melodies
echoing the winding stairs
to the entrance of Isola
Greeted by the italian boss
and the voice over charmer
selecting a wine to fill the night
and rose` tasted just right
Escorted to our special table
overlooking the bay
with lights twinkling away
from boats and skyscrapers
The lazer show just finishing
as we lifted our glasses of wine
cheers everyone and best wishes

There`s some people on the beach
they think it`s all over, it is now ~

a place to feel complete
telling tales about inmates
to shed tears that can`t wait
honest words spoken
hearts easily broken
harsh handling
of misunderstandings
nominate a mate
seal their fate
to immigrate
the main gate
new faces come
people go some
electric shocks
the weird place rocks
screams of laughter
couldn`t get dafter
suspicious love
duve lover dove
boys and girls
girls and girls

love and hate
similar fate mate
public vote
seems remote
in that rent free
rooms of insecurity
one by three
by fortune or foul deed
they make their escape
but it`s all on video tape
to be scrutinized
mesmerized idolized
the remaining few
anticipate the cue
for them to join the queue
to cheer
